Pain Management is now Pain Mismanagement
I have been with JPS Pain Management for several years and they were always caring, helpful and the doctors instilled confidence as to their ability to do procedures as well as give medications to help pain.
A bit over a year ago the doctors and PA’s in charge were suddenly replaced by one or two incompetent doctors and several very hateful PA’s. Their moto is cut cut cut, cut medications 10% every visit. It does not matter if you are in increasing pain, your body will get used to it. They say. And this is not open for discussion, they will see you and talk to you but after they leave the room, the staff will bring your scripts with whatever changes they decide.
They are also pushing very hard for expensive and invasive procedures. Remember these are PA’s not the doctor which as of now there is only one. The atmosphere they have created is an adversarial one. It feels like it’s us against them, how is this good?
I feel their goal is to do away with pain management. I feel the insurance companies are spending many thousands of dollars for their patient’s to see PA’s not doctors and this is wrong in so many ways, it’s almost like stealing. A PA is not the same as a doctor
