#1 - Dorney Park allows people to urinate and change in public
My family of 12, four of which were kids 8 and under, paid over $400 to get in to Dorney Park on July 14th, 2012. We were having a great time until the people were asked to leave the wave pool so it can be cleaned. A woman and her child, the child was between 11 and 14 years old, came out of the pool at the far end on the left hand side by the umbrellas. They were between the steps that the life guards are at by the wall and the wooden fence. The girl proceeds to say to her mother that “mom I have to pee real bad and they closed the pool”.
The mother then told her daughter to pee right there by the wall on the sidewalk. The girl then urinates right there in front of us and the kids. The mother and the rest of her family then started to giggle. I couldn’t believe what I had just watched in front of my eyes and my kids eyes and then as if that wasn’t bad enough, they start to undress right there on the grass in front of everyone. We got so upset that we approached the life guard to get a supervisor. While we were talking to the supervisor they still were undressing in front of her.
The Dorney Park supervisor did NOTHING. After we stood there complaining to her, she finally went over to talk to them. We complained that they should be thrown out. She wouldn’t do anything until I got very upset and they called out a fourth supervisor, who said the same thing as the other supervisor. The only difference is that she told us if we were still not satisfied to go to guest service and file a report. She would not give us there information, I proceeded to argue with her and finally a security guard was called in. We then were told the family was detained and still was not going to throw them out. We agrueed again, then was asked if we witnessed the crime. Of course, we said yes and we told him we wanted to file a report.
We had to identify them through a one way glass three times, write a report and tell the same story to six different officers. We told them we wanted to go because the kids have been dealing with this for now two hours and we are wasting time. They eventually let us leave not knowing if they were or were not being kicked out. We were not offered anything for our undesirable situation so I went to the guest service and complained again. I was told the only thing they can do is give us 50% of tickets to come back this season. I asked are you kidding after paying over $400 you now want us to pay again to come back.
She informed us that is the only thing she is allowed to do on the park premises. I then had to fill out ANOTHER report to the corporate office and was told someone would get back to us. TWO WEEKS later and still no response. Then when we went to the park side and four out of five rides closed while we were in line. Not very happy! The sad thing is that Dorney Park allows people to come in and urinate in public, change in public and do nothing about it. If we were on the outside of Dorney Park the family would have been arrested and charged with two crimes.

Jimmy, I take it you're representative of the new mood at Dorney? Thanks for helping me decide. No, won't be bringing my daughter there. Too bad, used to be a great place for families & nice kids in Bob Ott's day.
I was at Dorney park and i was really having fun but at the end of the day( snoopy closes at 5) wanted to go to one of the rides( swing set) the operator just closed the ride, 7 minutes before closing time. She said her watch showed that it was time to closed. Many people in line and I had cell phones and try to tell her that it was too early to close but she was rude. She didn't apologize or give any good reason for early closing.
Other employees were fine.
Wow michelle you had a family detained cause a young child pissed in the pool…you ,my dear are a fucking JERKOFFF…and then u took the time to idenify them through one way glass and waste ur own family's time just because ur a monumental BITCH….and then u have the gall to post it here….ur a lot of fun ain't ya sweety ?
I had a similar experience as Michele, with people, children and adults, changing clothes in the pool area. The lifeguard acted as if this is normal behavior for the mostly urban folk who populated the park that day – maybe everyday. There were people obviously enjoy substance abuse, and much rude, crude, crass behavior throughout the park. If you are offended by gross behavior, Dorney may not be for you.
