Charged fee for router without telling me. - AT&T

I was sent a new router by AT&T because Windows 10 did not recognize the router that I had (which was not out of warranty). The router was free but I just noticed a $7.00 monthly charge for it. But, I was not told this when they said they would send a new router. Windows 10 does not recognize this router either, so that was a useless replacement.

When, I told this to AT&T they said that I would have to pay the monthly charge anyway. I even asked to have my other router back because AT&T claims that there wasn’t a monthly charge for that one.

However, that isn’t possible and I am now paying a $7.00 monthly fee for nothing.
