Tate Takes Advantage - Tate Publishing
As the story goes, I completed my first novel at a rather young age. I got really excited about trying to get it published and came across this awesome publisher who was willing to publish works from a wide variety of people. It seemed like the greatest thing that ever happened to me. When I got that phone call, I was so ecstatic that I literally jumped up and down around my high school newspaper club’s office.
Sadly, it was too good to be true. Sure, the publishing process was rather quicker than I expected it would be, give or take a month or two. Then my book finally made it’s way to my doorstep, only to remain there for three years. They make you pay $4000 for a marketing representative and then they never touch it again.
Even after countless emails of concern sent their way about how little press the book was getting, they have done NOTHING to promote it. That’s not just crushing the dreams of a young author, but it’s just plain “false advertisement.”
